** A tragic incident occurred in Butler County, where an 85-year-old man lost his life in a severe crash that also left two others injured. The incident unfolded on Milliken Road in Fairfield Township on a fateful Saturday afternoon.

The Fairfield Township Police Department reported that the crash happened just after 2:50 p.m. As officers were responding to an unconscious person, they were traveling eastbound on Milliken Road with their emergency lights and sirens activated.

As the police cruisers were en route, several vehicles in the westbound lane of Milliken Road began to slow and move over to the right within their lanes to give way to the emergency vehicles. One of the vehicles involved was a gray Acura RDX, driven by 85-year-old Logan Stone of Fairfield Township. His wife, also 85-year-old Donna Stone, was seated in the front passenger seat.

Another vehicle in the westbound lane was a gray Lincoln Navigator, operated by 43-year-old Trent McFadden of Liberty Township. According to the police, the Lincoln struck the rear of the Acura, causing it to spin and come to a rest in a yard on the north side of Milliken Road. The Lincoln continued rolling and came to a final stop a couple of driveways down on the same side of the road.

All three individuals involved in the crash were taken to UC West Chester Hospital for immediate medical attention. The officers later reported that Donna Stone and McFadden were stable and receiving treatment at the hospital. Logan Stone, however, was in critical condition and was later transported to UC Medical Center in Cincinnati, where he succumbed to his injuries early Sunday morning.

It is worth noting that all three occupants of the vehicles were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to police reports. The severity of the injuries sustained by the victims was compounded by the fact that the vehicles were traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the collision.

The crash remains under active investigation by the Fairfield Township Police Department. Authorities are working to determine the exact circumstances that led to the tragic incident. The investigation is expected to provide more insight into why the vehicles were involved in the crash and whether any other factors, such as inclement weather or distracted driving, played a role.

This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers that emergency vehicles face when they are responding to emergencies. The efforts of first responders, like the Fairfield Township Police Department, are invaluable, but their safety must also be a priority on the road.

In the wake of this tragedy, local community members have expressed their condolences for the Stone family and the others involved in the crash. As the investigation unfolds, the community awaits further information regarding the events that led to this devastating outcome.

The Fairfield Township Police Department has called for patience and understanding from the public as they work through the details of the case. They also encourage any witnesses to the crash to come forward with any information they may have to assist with the investigation.

This tragic event has highlighted the importance of safe driving practices, especially around emergency vehicles. The police are reminding the public to stay alert, maintain safe speeds, and remain vigilant on the roads, especially in areas where emergency vehicles may be present.

As the community grapples with the loss of life and the injuries sustained in this crash, there is an outpouring of support for the affected families. The local community has come together to offer their assistance and condolences during this difficult time.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of prioritizing safety on the roads. The Fairfield Township Police Department and the local community continue to mourn the loss of life and hope for a full recovery for the injured parties.
