As summer approaches, Ohio roadways are set to undergo a series of construction and maintenance projects, affecting various highways and local streets across the state. In Allen County, Interstate 75 will see periodic lane restrictions between National Road in Cridersville and 4th Street in Lima from July 26 to August 28. This is due to micro-surfacing work, which will be carried out between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Additionally, the road between 4th Street and Stewart Road will be restricted to one lane from August 24 to 28 for pothole patching. State Route 66, which was closed for full-width paving, has since reopened as of August 14.
In Delphos, State Route 66/Main Street between First Street and Fifth Street will be closed from September 16 to 20 for the annual Canal Days festival. The intersection of State Route 115 and Cole Street, approximately one mile south of U.S. 30, will be closed for approximately 60 days for the construction of a roundabout. Meanwhile, the intersection of State Route 117 and State Route 501 closed on July 13 for roundabout construction and is expected to reopen on September 21.
In the city of Delphos, the bridge over Flat Fork Creek between Main Street and Franklin Street closed on August 3 for approximately 75 days for a bridge rehabilitation project. The High Street reconstruction in the village of Lafayette will begin on August 31 and is expected to last for about 75 days, including resurfacing of Washington Street and Main Street.
In Auglaize County, the shoulder near the I-75 Northbound Rest Area in Auglaize County will be closed from August 24 to 28 for ditch work. The state route 29 between Linden Avenue and Kishler Drive in St. Marys will intermittently be reduced to a single lane from March 16 through September 2026 for sidewalk installation and signal upgrades. State Route 67 between East Street and Wayne Street will also be reduced to a single lane from May 4 through September 2026 for repaving.
The bridge on State Route 219 between CR 95 and Bay Road closed on May 18 for approximately 90 days for bridge reconstruction. State Route 364 between U.S. 33 and Celina Road will intermittently be reduced to a single lane from April 27 through fall 2026 for road repairs and resurfacing. Similarly, State Route 703 between County Line Road and Koenig Road will be reduced to a single lane from April 27 through fall 2026 for the same reasons.
In Hardin County, State Route 37 at the Hancock and Hardin County line will close on August 31 for approximately 45 days for culvert replacement. The U.S. 68/Detroit Street between Walnut Street and Perry Street will close on August 24 for approximately six days for railroad crossing repair.
In Putnam County, State Route 65 between Belmore Street and Poplar Street in the village of Leipsic will close from September 18 to 20 for the village festival. State Route 114 and State Route 115 in the village of Kalida may experience temporary traffic impacts from July 27 to October 30 for the construction of a shared-use path.
In Van Wert County, the U.S. 30 restricted crossing U-turn, U.S. 224, and Lincoln Highway roundabout projects are currently underway. The intersection of U.S. 224 and Lincoln Highway closed on July 3 for roundabout construction.
These projects are part of a larger effort to ensure Ohio's roadways remain safe and efficient for all users.
